About Us
My Name is Denise Tucker-Thomas. I am the founder of Because We Care Memphis. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Randell Thomas, for 14 years. We are blessed with three beautiful children and one granddaughter, Kenya, Shawn, Maranda and Kyeriana.
Because We Care Memphis was placed in my heart last year in Dec 2008, while we out last year giving food and clothing to the homeless. We had a few sleeping bags with our donations. I didn't think much of them at that time. Then, a homeless man saw the bags that were being given out and asked me "Did we have anymore?" When I told him no, he told me he really needed one because he lived on the street. My heart went out to him. Thinking it was too late to collect for that winter, I didn't do anything. The "Give a Sleeping Bag Project" was sparked in my heart again in 2009. I prayed about it and asked God to be my business partner on our projects for the homeless. He knows what we need and when we need it. God has connected me with some great people who are excited about supporting these projects.
Our Outreach Projects are based on the belief that the homeless needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team of volunteers and supporters are committed to meeting those needs. When you are a part of these community outreach projects, you are giving hope to someone living on the streets. We are very thankful to all who are supporting us.
